某次在看pronghorn時，忽然腳邊草叢有動靜，檢查了一下發現原來是隻cottontail rabbit，也就是隻兔子。這兔子在這區域不算難見到，除了在Black Hills外，我也在Badlands National Park看過幾次。有時候，這兔子也出現在prairie dog town。
Cottontail rabbit跟jackrabbit算是兩種最容易看到的兔子，外型上cottontail的耳朵沒有jackrabbit那麼大，且cottontail rabbit比較小隻，是視覺上的主要差別。
