在Wildlife Loop Road上，pronghorn(叉角羚)是路上容易看到的另一種野生動物。這動物主要以視覺偵測predator，所以喜歡沒有遮蔽的開闊地形，是另一個容易被看到的原因。一般號稱pronghorn的視力可以比擬八倍望遠鏡，也就是400mm的焦距。以前到大西部的古人用望遠鏡掃描的時候，可以看到望遠鏡裡小小的pronghorn也在遠方看他，因此有這說法，而這對也以視力偵測predator的bighorn sheep也適用。

我在Wildlife Loop Road上看過很多次pronghorn，感覺這邊的pronghorn不太怕人，即使距離不遠他們依然自我感覺良好做自己的事而不受影響。本來我是想看有沒有機會在五月底看到新生的baby，看來至少早了一或二星期，也許是還沒生或是剛生但躲著，所以沒看到。

不過意外看到兩隻公的pronghorn在搞華山論劍，也就是秋天mating season的對決。這其實是一隻小隻的公pronghorn主動去挑戰另一隻大隻的公pronghorn，這只是練習賽，他當然沒贏，而且三不五時做出submissive的動作。Pronghorn的華山論劍動作我以前有看過，不過距離沒像這次這麼近，歷時也沒有這次這麼久。練習賽大概就點到為止，雖然不激烈，但依然相當有趣。
